"An Unkindness of Ravens" One Tree Hill

I FINALLY finished watching my One Tree Hill series dvd set. I already watched the whole series a couple of times. But I wanted to own the series on dvd so bad for years, and I finally completed the set a month ago!

To some, a TV show, will always be just a TV show. "It's not real, its just a show"

But for the fans of OTH, the true fans, (not the bandwagonners who watched it on Netflix ;-)) To the fans who tuned in every Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursday Nights. Seriously though, we had to endure holiday hiatus after watching severe cliffhanger episodes! If we missed an episode, we had to wait a week before the CW posted it online!

Obviously, we knew it wasn't reality. But it taught us so much! From the indy music, to the deep quotes rooted in every line. Somehow or someway it truly affected you.

(Am I the only one who literally tried reading John Steinbeck novels just to connect to the show? Probably.)

The series ended in April 2012, it had 9 seasons, but the fan base still remains strong! No writer will ever come close to creating anything as amazing as One Tree Hill. A show that reminded you, despite pain or deep dark days we face as a teenagers,

"there is still magic in the world"

Whether you had a scumbag for a father like Dan Scott, or a witch for a mother like Brooke Davis. Maybe you were the emo, dark and moody cheerleader like Peyton. Maybe you lost a parent like Lucas, Peyton or Haley. Maybe you were an outsider like Mouth, who end up finding his way and true love.

Good parenting, bad parenting, friendship, brotherhood, sisterhood, sibling rivalry, betrayal, confidence, insecurities, true love, love triangles, psycho nannies, psycho stalkers (Derek & Katie) I mean, this wasn't Laguna Beach or 90210.

I always felt connected to Brooke's character. Don't ask me how. She was just me in another universe. But the fact that she endured all this heartbreak from all ends, yet ended up with all of her dreams coming true, it ALWAYS gives me hope.

The hairs on my arms stand up every time I watch the school shooting episode or the first episode of season 9. I get chills EVERY TIME. I cry like a baby every time I watch the episode when Dan dies or when Lydia (Haley's mom) dies. The tears of utter and complete JOY when Gavin Degraw and the cast sing, "I Don't Wanna Be" at TRIC, when teenage Jaime runs out with the Ravens at a basketball game! Ahhhhh!!! Happy endings.

This show will always be very close to my teenage heart, and it's still close to my young adult heart. It got me through some really rough times. Now, go do yourself a favor and watch an episode. What's your favorite episode and what's character are you most like?
